The highly experienced technical and financial team, has overseen 60+ mine builds and over US$200bn of mining sector transactions, and works in a close and collaborative manner with management teams to deliver optimal results

Juliana has 20 years of experience in energy, particularly in renewable energy projects. She spent 10 years in Vale’s energy department, working in strategy, development and execution of energy solutions and studies in Brazil, Canada, Oman, Indonesia and Mozambique.

As an independent consultant, she has worked for mining companies such as Kinross and for companies in the electricity sector. Enthusiastic about energy transition, she has recently coordinated projects on hybrid systems (solar / wind and floating solar / hydro). She is also a teacher in extension courses on renewable energy and training in energy efficiency.

Juliana is Brazilian and splits her time between the London and Belo Horizonte offices. She holds a doctoral degree in Energy Planning and a Master’s degree in finance, as well as a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and in business administration, and has written many acclaimed research papers on clean energy and mining.

Juliana is employed through Appian’s Brazilian subsidiary.
