
Appian has announced important changes to its executive structure in Brazil. These new appointments aim to strengthen the company’s local operations and improve asset management efficiency.
Milson Mundim has been appointed Country Manager of Appian Capital Brazil. With over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, project development, and debt structuring, Mundim has been with Appian since 2018 and has contributed to mining and energy projects across North America, South America, and Europe.
In his new role, Mundim will oversee the company’s operations in Brazil, promoting integration across Appian’s various businesses in the country. His leadership is expected to align local strategies with the firm’s global objectives, accelerating growth and enhancing operational performance.
Mundim holds a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in the US, bringing extensive international experience.
New financial leadership headed by long-standing executive
Additionally, José Luiz Navarro has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Appian Capital Brazil. With more than 15 years at the company, Navarro has held strategic roles in controllership, treasury, financial planning, accounting, taxation, and mineral concentrate marketing.
José Luiz Navarro has recently served as General Manager of Controllership at Appian Capital Brazil, playing an active role in due diligence processes and other critical company operations. He holds degrees in Accounting and Business Administration and has completed executive training in Strategic Finance at Harvard Business School.
These leadership changes are part of Appian’s strategy to optimize its Brazilian operations and build on its successful track record of developing impactful mining and energy projects in the region.
Francisco Jerez will lead the new underground phase of the project at Atlantic Nickel
Francisco Carrasco Jerez has been appointed Project Director for the Santa Rita Mine, operated by Atlantic Nickel, a portfolio company of Appian. He will lead the second phase of the project, known as Underground, which aims to develop an underground mine to extend the life of the operation in southern Bahia. This phase is currently in the feasibility study stage.
Jerez is a Mining Engineer graduated from the University of Chile, with a specialization in Administration from the same institution. He has over 22 years of experience managing large-scale mining projects, ranging from open-pit to underground mines, with previous roles at companies such as Vale, Anglo American, Barrick, and Codelco.
With these appointments, Appian reaffirms its commitment to operational excellence and the strategic expansion of its investments in Brazil.
