Geo., as Senior Manager for North America.

Jean will lead Appian’s newly opened office in Montreal, Quebec, as it continues its global expansion. He will be primarily sourcing and presenting potential mining transactions for companies headquartered in Quebec and North America – or that have assets in and outside of the continent, as well as assisting on the execution of transactions. Additionally, he will benefit from the international financial and technical expertise across Appian’s global footprint.
Jean brings with him 45 years of experience as a geologist in Canada and internationally. During his early career, he worked for Newmont, Falconbridge, Dome Mines, and Placer Dome, as well as serving as a C-suite executive for several small-cap junior exploration companies. Throughout his career, he has remained active as a technical, management and financing consultant, and led several teams in the search for precious and base metals, nickel and PGEs, and uranium and iron. Jean also has B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Geology from the University of Ottawa and is an accredited Professional Geologist in Quebec and Ontario.
Quebec is a strategic location for Appian in North America, which is a key market for the Company. Montreal is located near the mining communities of Val-d’Or and Rouyn-Noranda in the Abitibi, where more than a dozen precious and base metals active operations are located. The Abitibi is also home to numerous mid-tier and small-cap junior exploration companies.

Jean dirigera le nouveau bureau d’Appian à Montréal, au Québec, tandis que la Société poursuit son expansion mondiale. Jean s’occupera principalement de la recherche et de la présentation de transactions minières potentielles pour les entreprises dont le siège social se situe au Québec et en Amérique du Nord – ou qui possèdent des actifs sur le continent et à l’extérieur de celui-ci, et aidera également à l’exécution des transactions. Il aura également l’opportunité de mettre à profit l’expertise financière et technique globale associée à la présence mondiale d’Appian.
Jean possède 45 années d’expérience en tant que géologue au Canada et à l’international. Il a d’abord travaillé pour des sociétés comme Newmont, Falconbridge, Dome Mines et Placer Dome, avant d’exercer les fonctions de cadre dirigeant pour plusieurs petites sociétés d’exploration à faible capitalisation. Tout au long de sa carrière, il a joué un rôle actif en tant que consultant technique, en gestion et en financement, et a dirigé plusieurs équipes dans la recherche de métaux précieux et de base, de nickel et d’EGP, ainsi que celle d’uranium et de fer. Jean est également titulaire d’un B.Sc. et d’un M.Sc. en géologie de l’Université d’Ottawa, et est un géologue professionnel accrédité au Québec et en Ontario.
Le Québec est une région stratégique pour Appian en Amérique du Nord, qui représente un marché clé pour la Société.
