DESCRIPTION
Damien is Director of Processing and Metallurgy at Appian. Damien is London-based and is responsible for undertaking technical due diligence on mining projects, principally from a metallurgical / processing perspective.
Damien has over 16 years of experience in metallurgy and mineral processing operations and worked extensively with Appian prior to joining the Team.
Prior to joining Appian, Damien’s career focused primarily on process improvement and optimization in challenging metallurgical conditions. He has extensive experience in base metals (zinc-lead-copper-nickel), precious metals (gold-silver) and gemstones. Damien lived and worked overseas extensively in his career, in countries including Australia, Honduras, Papua New Guinea, Egypt, Burkina Faso, Mexico and others.
Co-Founder of BHM Process Consultants, a metallurgical consultancy that provided specialist advice for scoping and pre-feasibility stage projects, including laboratory test work, management, analysis, plant conceptual mass balancing, design and CAPEX / OPEX estimation. This consultancy also specialized in site-based optimizations and troubleshooting. Damien has also participated in several due diligence processes and CAPEX / OPEX estimations for project evaluations.
