Head of Continuous Improvement
DESCRIPTION
Trevor is Appian’s Head of Continuous Improvement, based between Toronto and London. His primary focus is on supporting Appian’s portfolio companies towards increasing asset values through continuous improvement.
Trevor brings +20 years senior level leadership experience leading Continuous Improvement at major mining companies, including Barrick Gold, Goldcorp (Newmont) and Lundin Mining. Trevor’s previous role before joining Appian was Senior Director Operational Excellence, Supply Chain and Asset Management at Lundin Mining where he oversaw Business Critical Improvement Initiatives across their global operations. Trevor was also responsible for the implementation and oversight of Lundin’s Supply Chain and Asset Management (Maintenance) Global Frameworks. Rounding out Trevor’s broad level leadership experience was his leading of operational decarbonization/energy management strategies over the last 10 years as well as operational technology and mining innovation/automation projects.
Trevor brings a deep breadth of experience in formal Continuous Improvement methods, associated with Lean culture, systems and tools. He spent the first 10 years of his career in progressive leadership roles with Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada learning and applying the Toyota Production System (TPS), a globally renowned benchmark in continuous improvement. Trevor then successfully transitioned from the automotive industry into mining where he has spent the last 20 years implementing Lean continuous improvement principles.
