Head of Asia
DESCRIPTION
Richy is the Head of Asia to Appian. Based in Hong Kong, Richy is responsible for all China related matters encompassing strategy and partnerships.
Prior to joining Appian, Richy was the Co-Head Asia Pacific, Metals & Mining of Standard Chartered Bank for ten years. During this period, Richy successfully built the metals & mining franchise in China for Standard Chartered, assisting Western miners in divesting their assets to Chinese mining companies and facilitating Chinese mining companies to acquire overseas mining assets. Having concluded numerous cross-border mining deals over 20+ years, Richy is well respected and connected in Chinese mining circles.
Prior to Standard Chartered Bank, Richy was Head of China Metals & Mining for Citibank from 2011-2014, and before that, he was Head of China Metals & Mining for HSBC from 2007-2011.
Richy started his mining career with Rothschild from 2000-2003, and later as Business Development Director at Alcoa Asia Pacific from 2003-2007, before moving to Hong Kong in 2007.
Richy holds a BA in Applied Chemistry from East China University of Science and Technology.
