DESCRIPTION
Zetti is Senior Vice President of Mining for Appian Capital Advisory LLP, based in London and responsible for overseeing Appian’s operations portfolio.
Zetti has 27 years of hands-on experience in precious and base metals mining at world-class operations and projects covering a wide variety of technical, operational, and managerial roles from project development to fully operational stages. His experience includes advanced exploration, mine development, operational readiness, mine construction, operations management, business modelling, and SHEC management.
Prior to joining Appian, Zetti served as Vice President of Operations for MMG at Las Bambas, a world-class porphyry–skarn type deposit and one of the largest copper mines in the world. Prior to that, he was General Manager at Nexa’s Cerro Lindo, a world-class volcanogenetic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit type. Cerro Lindo is the largest Peruvian underground mine as well as one of the largest zinc mines in the world, a best-in-class operation, which includes the use of seawater through a desalination plant and drystack tailings disposal. Before Nexa, Zetti worked for Yamana Gold as Technical Services Director in Argentina and Brazil, and prior to that he held various management and engineering roles with Barrick Gold for almost 18 years, latterly as Operations General Manager at the Lagunas Norte mine in Peru and the Veladero mine in Argentina.
Zetti is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy as well as Director of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers. He holds a Master of Science degree in Mining, Geological and Geophysical Engineering from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining from The National University of San Marcos in Lima-Peru. He is fluent in Spanish and English, and he also has basic French and Portuguese.
