Jürgen is a Senior Vice President at Appian. He is responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, conducting transaction due diligence, executing investment deals, and overseeing portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Appian, Jürgen was an investment banker in Goldman Sachs’ Global Natural Resources Group based in the US, where he was involved in M&A, equity, and debt transactions. Before that, Jürgen held investment and operational roles at Summa Partners, a generalist Private Equity and advisory firm in Chile. He began his career as a management and mining consultant, advising leading corporations across South and North America.

Jürgen has a MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Master in Mineral Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile with a module at Colorado School of Mines. He also holds a bachelor’s in industrial engineering with a specialization in business and mining from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Jürgen speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
