RICHARD HATCHER

DESCRIPTION
Richard is a member of Appian’s Technical Team, where he focuses on undertaking technical due diligence on mining projects but with a particular focus on exploration upside evaluation. Richard has over 20 years of experience primarily in exploration and resource drilling across a range of commodities.
Prior to joining Appian, Richard worked as Exploration Manager at the Capricorn Copper Mine coordinating the resource delineation and exploration upside of the Refurbishment and Restart Study of the Capricorn Copper Project. Mining was recommenced at the Capricorn Copper Mine in November 2017 with an estimated 10-year mine life on current defined resources. During his career, Richard has worked extensively in Southeast Asia, Oceania, Central and South America with a number of companies including roles as Executive Director (Technical) – Chinalco Yunnan Copper Resources Ltd, Exploration Manager – Kings Minerals NL (Mexico).
Richard has been an integral member of the teams involved in the discovery and delineation of a number of deposits including Roseby Copper Oxide Deposit (Cloncurry – Australia), Ocampo Gold – Silver Deposit (Chihuahua – Mexico), Palmarejo Silver – Gold Deposit (Chihuahua – Mexico) and Cerro del Gallo Gold – Copper – Silver Deposit (Guanajuato – Mexico).
Richard is an Australian national and holds a B App Sc in Geology (Honours) from Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Richard is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Geoscientists and a Member of the Society of Economic Geologists.
