The highly experienced technical and investment team, has overseen 60+ mine builds and over US$200bn of mining sector transactions, and works in a close and collaborative manner with management teams to deliver optimal results

Zetti is the Deputy Chief Operating Officer (technical) for Appian and responsible for overseeing Appian’s operations portfolio and providing due diligence on pipeline investments. He works alongside COO Igor Gonzales.

Zetti has 3 decades of hands-on experience in precious and base metals mining at world-class operations and projects covering a wide variety of technical, operational and managerial roles from project development to fully operational stages. As well as previously being at Appian as a Vice President of Operations.

His previous experience includes being the Operations Director for Glencore’s copper assets in Peru, where he had P&L responsibility for Antapaccay (operating asset), Antamina JV (non-operating asset) and the Coroccohuayco project. Before that, he was the Operations and Joint Ventures Lead and subsequently General Manager, Regional Operational Development for South America.

Prior to his first stint at Appian, Zetti served as Vice President of Operations for MMG at Las Bambas, one of the largest copper mines in the world. He was also the General Manager at Nexa’s Cerro Lindo mine, the largest Peruvian underground mine as well as one of the largest zinc mines in the world, a best-in-class operation. Before Nexa, Zetti held various management and engineering roles across Yamana Gold and Barrick Gold, across Latin America.

Zetti is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy as well as Director of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers. He holds a Master of Science degree in Mining, Geological and Geophysical Engineering from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining from The National University of San Marcos in Lima-Peru. He is fluent in Spanish and English and he also has basic French and Portuguese.
