DESCRIPTION
Ken is Director of Mine Evaluations and Pipeline at Appian. He is responsible for undertaking technical due diligence on Appian investment opportunities. In addition, Appian has built 12 projects and mines since 2016 and Ken participates in the associated management, committees and execution.
Ken has been with Appian for a decade and has 40 years of worldwide experience in the mining industry. His core technical skills include mine evaluations, Resource and Reserve definition and risk assessment, operational improvement studies, upside and exploration evaluation, due diligence activities and geostatistical studies. Ken has been directly involved in the final Resource and Reserve estimations for new mine openings at numerous mines including Atlantic Nickel, Los Pelambres, Escondida Norte, San Gregorio, Grasberg Big Gossen, Akyem, Diavik and Gaucho Kue.
Prior to joining Appian, Ken led and participated in more than 200 studies and reviews ranging in focus among greenfields, PEA, PFS, DFS and operating mines. Ken has executed projects in a wide range of locations including North and South America, Africa, Indonesia, Russia and Australia, serving as a Competent / Qualified person (NI43-101 and JORC) across several commodities including gold, silver, diamonds, copper, nickel and zinc.
